Mogul’s Film Financing gets better with the Induction of New Co-Chairs
On the 10th of June, Mogul Productions announced the promotion of two of its senior advisors, Paul Sparkles and Gorav Seth to Co-chairs of the Decentralized Film Financing platform, Mogul Productions. This addition is glamorous based on their years of engagement in the entertainment and financing industry.
About Paul Sparkes
Paul Sparkes is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and venture capitalist who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Memorial University and is based out of Toronto. He is an accomplished business leader with over twenty five years’ experience in media, public affairs, finance, capital markets and Canada’s political arena. In addition to his role at Norris Point Capital, Paul is President of Otterbury Holdings Inc., a corporation advising growth entities in the private and public markets.
Most recently Paul was Executive Vice Chair, Director and co-founder of Difference Capital Financial, a TSX-listed specialty finance company that invests in media, technology, health care and U.S. real estate. Previously he was Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs for CTVglobemedia (now Bellmedia).
Prior to joining Bell Globemedia in 2001 as Group Vice-President, Public Affairs he held senior positions in the public service, including with the Government of Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. He’s been involved in the film and TV industry for nearly 20 years, managing Hollywood actors and financing independent films.
About Gorav Seth
Gorav Seth is an investment banker and venture capitalist by profession where he has spent over 12 years in Canadian capital markets working on Bay Street (Cdn version of Wall Street) and have raised over $4b in financings. He spent several years at a leading independent investment bank working on financings, mergers & acquisitions and advisory for mid-size public companies. He currently runs the capital markets division for the largest wealth manager in Canada.
His experience comes from spending nearly 20 years in the film and entertainment industry as a manager for actors where he did things like overseeing and managing their careers or raise money film independent films. Therefore, he is highly qualified due to his expertise on both financing and entertainment, which he claims attracted him to Mogul.
Hence, Mogul Productions President, Lisa Sun stated that “the combined leadership and experience that Paul and Gorav bring to Mogul is second to none and working together, they will help us greenlight more movies, more quickly.”
