Architectural Structure of EpiK Protocol
Technical Structure
In a fast-paced digital world where new technical innovations flood the market every year, businesses need to act quickly to keep up with the competition. However, adopting random technologies without knowing how they will create more value, in the long run, can have detrimental effects on a business. In addition, cloud computing, microservices and distributed systems are adding another level of complexity to the IT landscape. All these factors combined have created a growing need for skilled IT architects.
Technical Architecture (TA) is a form of IT architecture that is used to design computer systems. It involves the development of a technical blueprint with regard to the arrangement, interaction, and interdependence of all elements so that system-relevant requirements are met.
At its core, the term architecture describes the formation of a structure by strategically assembling single components. In this process of assembling, the architect has to adhere to certain rules or requirements like legal constraints, financial constraints or scientific laws. In the world of technology architecture design, the focus lies on technology limitations, meaning that a technology architect makes sure that a new application is compatible with the existing technology at a company by specifying things like the communications network or hardware that it uses.
EpiK Protocol Technical Architecture
EpiK Protocol Technical Architecture consists of Knowledge Extraction, Knowledge Storage and Knowledge Application. Prior to these, they are further categorized into underlying storage, core components, smart contracts, knowledge graph and knowledge gateway and, open-source license.
- Underlying Storage
The creation of knowledge graphs necessitates a significant quantity of micro-collaboration, hence, little bin-log files will be generated during the collaboration process and saved on the Filecoin Layer 2 Network. These little bin-log files from many domains can be gathered by anyone at any time, then send the big snapshot files to the Filecoin Layer 1 network for long-term maintenance and monetary rewards.
As a result, Filecoin’s Layer 1 Storage was created. The network is the foundation of EpiK’s technical architecture, and the EpiK Protocol is built on top of it. Filecoin Layer 2 Storage Network can be modified.
2. Core Components
EpiK Protocol’s major components are Consensus Mechanism, Virtual Machine, and Ledger On-Chain, which are built on top of the underlying storages.
The Consensus Mechanism is based on Filecoin’s Proof-of-Storage, Proof-of-Replication, and Proof-of-Spacetime. To accommodate the enormous number of small files in the EpiK Protocol, the protocol uses a unified 8M sector size (far smaller than Filecoin’s 32G sector size). This opens the door for a huge number of low-level node machines that were previously unable to participate in FIL storage in the Filecoin Layer 1 Network to now participate in EpiK Protocol storage, maximizing node storage capacities.
EpiK Protocol, in addition to being compatible with Filecoin’s Actor mechanism, is also compatible with the latest Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing for the seamless migration or integration of existing Ethereum community application resources, such as DAO dApps (e.g., Aragon), Oracle services (e.g. Chainlink ), and DeFi dApps (e.g. Compound).
3. Smart Contracts
EpiK Protocol encodes on-chain incentive rules for each ecosystem actor using Filecoin’s Actor contract mechanism. Typical examples are the Domain Experts, Knowledge Node, Bounty Hunters, Voters and Knowledge Gateways.
EpiK Protocol migrates governance and financial services from the Ethereum ecosystem to the knowledge graph collaborative ecosystem using the EVM contract paradigm. Each participant’s conduct will be documented in the event status during cooperation under EpiK Protocol.
When a rule is activated, it is automatically applied to reward or punish the appropriate user, and the rule will swiftly reach consensus across the network, locking the results and preventing manipulation.
4. Knowledge Graph and Knowledge Gateway
Bin-log files smaller than 8M are the unit of knowledge graph data in EpiK Protocol, and each bin-log file comprises a series of ordered operations. Updates to the knowledge graph schema and n-triple data of each domain are among these processes.
Only Domain Experts can upload bin-log files to their corresponding responsible domains, therefore each bin-log file contains traceable information that is passed down to every action in the file and then to each n-triple data of the EpiK Protocol knowledge graph.
To boost the contribution of experts in this domain, domain experts use various bin-log conversion and creation tools supplied by EpiK Protocol to convert knowledge graph data from diverse sources into prepared bin-log files before uploading them to EpiK Protocol Network. Knowledge Node will back up and save the bin-log file all over the world, and a CDN network will emerge on its own. When data must be read, the demander can set its own filters, such as which domain to read, and launch the configured knowledge gateway.
It will integrate on-chain data, download filtered bin-log files, replay all operations in the files in order, and locally restore a graph database with the required knowledge graph data. The demander can also run queries on the synchronized graph database, which holds the knowledge graph data that was retrieved.
Users can obtain the most recent knowledge graph data using Knowledge Gateways (KGs). They must stake EPK in order to have access to knowledge graph data.
As the demand for knowledge graph data on EpiK rises, Knowledge Gateways and Knowledge Nodes will risk more EPK tokens. As a result, market for EPK tokens increases, as does the worth of EPK tokens.
Epik quiz games can be disseminated using existing LMSs or directly through the Epik platform. However, its quizzes may be done individually or in groups, and they are made up of a series (collection) of interactive scenarios.
Each scenario has a series of questions of the following types: multiple choice, truth or false, and matching. Texts, presentations, pictures, and videos, as well as other didactic materials, may be put on the situations. Learning materials generated on an LMS may be simply imported and reused because to its connection with the LMS.
Designing the EpiK cooperation system, which comprises Domain Experts, Bounty Hunters, Knowledge Miners, and Knowledge Gateways, is one of the challenges that was encountered in this project. The other is to develop the four fundamental capabilities of trustworthy storage, finance, governance, and incentive. Only by defining the fundamental logic will we be able to assure the EpiK ecosystem’s long-term viability.
In terms of accomplishments, we reaching the end of the testnet stage, where we have distributed 5 million $epk prizes as of today.
There will be further incentives for pre-mining before the mainnet debut, with 10,000 $epk being awarded each day.
The token price which reflects our community’s support has recently increased by 40%. Also, the first product “Knowledge Mainland v1.0” has just recently finished; Hence, the alpha will be available shortly.
The EpiK Protocol’s native token, EPK, is used to power the EpiK Token Economy. The EpiK Protocol establishes a collaborative relationship amongst the main participants in the KG network so that they may work together to build a knowledge graph whilst also chasing their own goals.
5. Open-Source License
The EpiK Protocol is a proponent of open-source knowledge. According to the guidelines, anyone can become a domain expert, adding to the knowledge graph data and reaping rewards. Users of the EpiK Protocol can stake EPK to gain access to knowledge graph data in various disciplines. These actions do not necessitate the approval of any centralized authority.
The EpiK Protocol thinks that the open-source knowledge movement will once again significantly improve the efficiency of human-AI, AI-AI collaboration. Each domain expert has the authority to define the open-source license in their respective fields. The license will be permanently maintained in EpiK Protocol and will be associated to the domain expert’s application details.
About EpiK Protocol
The EpiK Protocol is the world’s first decentralized AI data storage protocol. It creates a global open autonomous community with four core capabilities of trusted storage, trusted incentives, trusted governance, and trusted finance through the integration of IPFS storage technology, Token incentive mechanism, and DAO governance model, which organizes global community users to work together at a very low management cost and continuously produce high-quality AI data. EpiK Protocol thinks that by broadening AI’s horizons and ushering in the era of cognitive intelligence, they may usher in a new era of AI.
